Certification Levels

Each level of certification has different requirements.

Foundation Colon Hydrotherapist

The foundation level is for those individuals who are:
  • Newly trained professional colon hydrotherapists or
  • have not had more than basic training.
Interested in becoming certified with GPACT, see the basic/general requirement for GPACT Membership.

Advanced Colon Hydrotherapist

The advanced level is for those individuals who are:

  • Certified by GPACT at the Foundation Level for a minimum of 1 year
    • This may be waived if the individual has a medical license.
      – Provide a copy of the license
    • Must be able to meet all of the basic/general requirement for GPACT Membership.
    • If you are renewing and changing your certification level, please provide a copy of your liability/malpractice insurance and provide proof if anything changed with your therapy room or education.
  • Successfully completed Advanced training by a GPACT recognized training facility
    • Provide a copy of your training course completion certificate or letter from the instructor
  • Successfully completed Basic Patient Privacy (HIPAA) training or your areas equivalent privacy training program.
    • Provide a copy of your training course completion certificate or letter from the instructor

Master Colon Hydrotherapist

For those professional colon hydrotherapists who have:

  • Completion of the Advanced Certification for a minimum of 4 years.
  • Successfully completed Advanced Patient Privacy (HIPAA) training or your areas equivalent privacy training program.
  • Certified Practitioner of a complementary modality for a minimum of 1 year.

Master level of certification applicants must submit the following proof with their application and membership fee:

  • For those not already GPACT Advanced Level certified, submit the Foundation level’s basic/general requirements for GPACT Membership and the Advanced level requirements. For those renewing and changing their certification level, please provide a copy of your liability insurance.
  • A copy of your Advanced Level Colon Hydrotherapy training certification to show you have graduated from a recognized instructor of Professional Colon Hydrotherapy
  • A copy of your Advanced Patient Privacy (HIPAA) training completion certificate
  • A copy of your being a Certified Practitioner of a complimentary modality for a minimum of 1 year.

Colon Hydrotherapist Instructor

For those professional colon hydrotherapists who have:

  • Completed the GPACT Advanced Level certification process for 1-year
  • Completed an Instructor training course by a recognized training facility
  • Instructor level of certification applicants must submit the following proof with their application and membership fee then their application will go through the juried application process
  • For those renewing and changing their certification level, please provide a copy of your liability insurance.
  • A copy of your Instructor Level Colon Hydrotherapy training certification to show you have graduated from a recognized instructor of Professional Colon Hydrotherapy

NOTE: If you are an I-ACT certified instructor, you may not select this option.


Clinical Colon Hydrotherapist

For those professional colon hydrotherapists whom would like to perform colon hydrotherapy for those referred by doctors for colonoscopies or Endoscopy. Applicants for this level must submit the following proof with their application and membership fee:

  • For those not already GPACT Advanced Level certified, submit the Foundation level’s basic/general requirements for GPACT Membership and the Advanced level requirements. For those renewing and changing their certification level, please provide a copy of your liability insurance with the Advanced level requirements.
  • A copy of your Clinical Level Colon Hydrotherapy training certification to show you have graduated from a recognized instructor of Professional Colon Hydrotherapy

Besides the basic/general requirement for GPACT Membership, the Clinical Colon Hydrotherapist Level GPACT Certification requires:

  • Successfully completed Basic Patient Privacy (HIPAA) training
  • Direct entry for Advanced Colon Hydro-Therapists AND or Licensed Healthcare professionals such as Doctors and Nurses.
  • Available only to therapists having a minimum of 2 years of experience at Foundation Level or higher
  • Must work with Doctors providing Endoscopy Preps in their own practices

Clinical Colon Hydrotherapist Instructor

The Clinical Instructor level is for those professional colon hydro-therapists who have already been certified at the Clinical and Master level and would like to teach the Clinical level. Applicants for this level must submit the following proof with their application and membership fee then their application will go through the juried application process.

Besides the basic/general requirement for GPACT Membership, the Clinical Colon Hydro-Therapist Instructor Level GPACT Certification requires:

  • The juried application process for applicants holding BOTH the Master Colon Hydrotherapist and Clinical Colon Hydrotherapist Certifications.
  • Provide proof of your having completed a Clinical Colon Hydrotherapy course, such as a copy of your course completion certificate.
  • Provide proof of your being an active practitioner of medically indicated colon hydro-therapy preps including colonoscopy and lower GI preps.
  • Provide proof of your working with Gastroenterologist doctor(s) that you regularly providing colonoscopy preps.
  • Provide copies of Colonoscopy Preparation Protocol(s) or Instruction.
  • Letter of recommendation from at least one Gastroenterologist doctor(s) that you currently work with.
  • You must provide to your students be able to observe live colonoscopies procedures on the patients they prepped.
